In a recent report from the HSE, it has been reported that initial projections on potential deaths caused by exposure to asbestos have been underestimated.

The new report and projections suggests that deaths will continue to increase peaking in 2016 with 2,014 male deaths. It is estimated there will be around 91,000 deaths to occur by 2050.

Clearly, no one knows the real final figure but year on year the expected number of people to suffer or die with asbestos related condition continues to increase.

The worlds biggest industrial disaster continues to gather pace and clearly we are not yet over the worst of the devastating illness associated with asbestos exposure.
